Every occupation makes its own requirements of the body by position and movement. The 26 movable bones in the spinal column and the sacroiliac joints (where the spine connects with the hips) adapt themselves to each job's need. But as they do so, occupational health problems may be created.

Awkward positions and strain from lifting, twisting and bending can cause distortion of the spine which interferes with the normal transmission of nerve impulses to parts of your body. Pain, discomfort and acute and chronic ailments result.

Through examination and adjustment, Dr. Cassara treats displaced vertebrae, removing pressure to normalize the flow of nerve energy and eliminating the cause of the ailment.

When the spine is in correct alignment, allowing normal motion of vertebrae, nerve energy then can regulate functions of all organs, glands and tissues of the body.

Whatever your age or occupation, maintain your health and ability to perform most efficiently by preventive health care. Have your spine examined at regular frequent intervals. Here are a few typical occupational problems:

  • Housewives: Bending, twisting and lifting excessively; pushing or dragging heavy pieces of furniture; reaching high places.
  • Draftsmen, Artists and Office Workers: Bending over a drawing board or desk for long periods of time; in sufficient variety of positions during the working day; awkward positions
  • Delivery People, including Mail Carriers: Heavy loads should be well balanced and not place undue stress on one side of the body.
  • Laborers: Many varieties of strains here - most common are from bending, twisting and lifting overloads or lifting without regard as to how to lift properly.

Yours for better health, naturally,

Cassara Chiropractic Center
